Privacy Policy
Effective September 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Borscht Bureau collects when you visit this website, place an order, make a reservation, or get in touch — and what we do with it. We collect only what we need to run the restaurant and this site well, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
What we collect
Orders and gift cards. When you buy something through our shop, payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of what was ordered, the amount, and the email address used for the receipt.
Reservations and catering inquiries. If you request a reservation or ask about catering, we collect your name, email, phone number, and any event details or message you include, so we can respond.
Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Site analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read, in aggregate — this doesn't identify you personally. You can opt out using Google's browser opt-out tool.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the site and the restaurant — Stripe for payment processing, Resend for sending order and reservation emails, and Google Analytics for traffic reporting. Each of those has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf. We don't sell or rent your information to third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for two things: remembering your shopping cart between visits, and Google Analytics' anonymized traffic measurement. The footer's embedded Spotify player is a third-party widget and may set its own cookies under Spotify's own policy, outside our control.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe from any emails, by writing to hello@borschtbureau.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you're okay with the update.
